Bedroom and Family Room Addition

I would wholeheartedly recommend Big Island Pond Remodeling to anyone & everyone! They built a two room addition on our existing home in late 2018. We started looking for contractors in April 2018. The ones who bothered to call back, and then, actually show up for an appointment, were far from what I considered professional, respectful or confidence-inspiring for this very important project to us. I was extremely frustrated in my search when someone recommended BIP to me.

From the get-go, it was a completely different experience than others we had met with... almost too-good-to-be-true good… but they actually were EVERYTHING they had initially seemed to us to be. Moreover, they “delivered” everything they said they would and MORE!I loved the husband-wife team, Fred as the Contractor & Michelle as the Project Manager. As a woman, it can be intimidating dealing with male contractors. It was nice to be able to communicate with another woman about ideas and things...or questions that maybe I thought would sound trivial to a man. Not only is she a genuinely nice person, and always super pleasant to deal with, but she kept a firm grasp of all the many details discussed over an approximate 4 month period (from 1st meeting to project completion)...things that maybe even I had forgotten about! She was always on top of things and kept me informed every step of the way. That was very much appreciated, and also comforting, to know where we were and what was next!Fred is also a genuinely nice person. And man, does he know his stuff! His overall knowledge of construction and everything it entails is truly amazing. He can quote building codes off the top of his head like it’s nobody’s business. He actually saved us time and a lot of money by talking down our town building inspector from requiring something not at all necessary and that would have been costly. Fred did this with his knowledge of code, creative problem solving abilities and his great people skills to appease the inspector with another simpler solution to the situation with which that the inspector had an issue. While Fred is current on codes and super knowledgeable, he is also old-school. And I really respect that about him. He sets a high bar for work ethic, the quality of work and wanting his clients to be happy with the end result. It’s hard to find people like him, or his wife Michelle, these days that are so hard-working, conscientious and caring.Both Fred & Michelle worked so hard for us, wanted the very best that could be done and most of all, wanted us to LOVE the finished project. And we absolutely do! We love them too!The same goes for the BIPR crew and sub-contractors. They were all hard working, respectful professionals that were a pleasure to have around during the building process. And that says alot for people whom I at first didn’t know that had to see me fresh out of bed in the morning in my pj’s & messy hair.The last thing I have to say is that Big Island Pond Remodeling is an 100% CLASS ACT and we feel so very happy and so very fortunate that we found them to do our project. I will always call them first for any future home projects and recommend them to anyone I can.

I cant recommend this company enough...can I add i a few stars?! Punctual, excellent communication, quality work...they completely exceeded all our expectations from start to finish. The crew was on site at 8am every day, worked till 5. Even my neighbors commented how punctual and hard they worked! They stayed on schedule and I am in LOVE with my first floor remodel! Composite Deck Remodel/Replacement

The amazing work completed by Big Island Pond Remodeling exceeded our expectations. They designed and rebuilt a wraparound deck, and the job was 10+. Owners Michelle and Fred were extremely professional and offered great suggestions and ideas, as well as talked through our expectations of the project. From beginning to end they were simply spot on, and oh so prompt! The staff are geniuses in their creativity, and the quality of their work is unparalleled. The team communicated with us every step of the way and completed the project within the time we allotted. "We had a fire at our home. The garage was a total loss and our attached family room needed to be gutted and totally redone. Fred came out to see us as soon as I called him for an estimate. He and Michelle dealt with our insurance adjusters and came up with a plan for rebuilding. They are a professional, skilled and caring company. This was a very stressful time for my husband and I and they eased our anxiety level immensely. They are so knowledgeable about all aspects of rebuilding and remodeling and gave us such fantastic ideas that we never even thought of. I first met Fred Pappalardo where he was volunteering his time and expertise with a local youth organization. I have to say, I liked him immediately, but I wasn’t quite ready to take on any large projects at my Derry home. Well, winter would have something to say about that, because before I could get a handle on them, much of my home was overtaken with ice dams. Not knowing quite who to call, I called Fred for advice at first. Without hesitation Fred and his crew were at my house mitigating what had become some record-breaking ice dams. In my case the damage was extensive, but I really felt like I had a trustworthy friend in my corner to guide us through the process from insurance adjuster to full recovery.

Some of the damage from the ice dams meant a bit of remodeling in our master bathroom was inevitable. Noting this was the case, my wife and I opted to move forward with a full master bath remodel we had been putting off. Full Home Remodel, 3 Season Addition

Where do I begin? We planned an extensive remodel of our home as well as some significant additions. It involved redesigning a living space and kitchen, adding a bathroom, renovating two other bathrooms, creating new lighting in almost every room in the house, and adding a screen porch. There were other minor projects and each one of them would have required a contractor and subs. We interviewed five different contractors over a period of about seven months before we finally found Fred and Big Island Pond Remodeling.

They were clearly the least expensive but that was not why we hired them. My wife is extremely detail-oriented and was on site almost every day with questions about what was being done, design elements, growth options - you name it. Fred, Michelle, Rob, and Eric were always supportive and respectful no matter what the question - no question too dumb and a genuinely positive environment - not always the case once shovels go into the ground.

I'm a woodworker - a lifelong hobby. I can't say enough about the attention to detail Fred maintained on every aspect of the project. His focus on maintaining symmetry as the design progressed really paid off and we've received countless compliments on the work they did for us."

"Fred and Michelle worked with our family to renovate rooms in our home to create an in-law suite. They added doors, put down new flooring, built a closet, took down a wall, made a half bath/laundry into a full bathroom, and relocated the laundry to an upstairs bathroom. From planning the project and consulting on the budget to the completion of the project, Fred, Michelle, their subcontractors and staff were a pleasure to work with. We just finished a large renovation project with BIP, and we were so impressed at every stage of the project. We interviewed about 7 different companies, and selected BIP, because we had an instant feeling of comfort with both Fred and Michelle. Together, they are an exceptional team. I have had Fred (and his team) perform a lot of work at my home in Marlboro MA. I would say he has been here at least for 5 different jobs dating back to 2007. He has done almost everything here including installing a Full Shed Dormer on my Cape, replaced windows, entry doors (with Provia - which are awesome), basement windows, a new roof, installed siding, Sheetrock, and hardwood flooring.
